Banana ‘ice cream’ and chocolate sauce

Bananas are high in natural sugar but they are far better for you than tucking into a whole tub of sugary, syrupy ice cream. They contain lots of helpful nutrients including vitamin C, vitamins B2 and 6, magnesium and potassium

This recipe is super quick and simple – all you need are frozen bananas and a blender. Freeze as many bananas as you intend to serve, approximately 1 banana per person – depending on size. The place to get creative is with your toppings!

Instructions
  1. You only need to freeze the bananas for a couple of hours, any longer and they might not blend. To make the ice cream, put the bananas in a high-speed blender until they become a creamy and fluffy much like your classic Mr Whippy then whisk up the sauce!
  2. To make the chocolate sauce simply mix the ingredients together - you can do this in a warm saucepan
  3. Drizzle over the ice cream with any toppings that take your fancy, and that’s it! Tuck in and enjoy!
Recipe Notes

Tip – this is a great one to experiment with, try blending the bananas with acai powder for a tasty berry twist.
