This is a super easy dessert and if you’re having guests round can make a fun post-dinner guessing game… unless your friends are clued up on nutrition they’ll never guess this is made of avocados!
Avocados are a source of omega 9 fats that can help to protect our skin from the sun, they also contain vitamins C and A – important skin healing nutrients. Cocoa, as long as it’s pure without any added sugar has lots of antioxidants that can be helpful for skin health and contains magnesium which is considered ‘nature’s relaxant’ – there’s a biological reason behind those chocolate cravings!
Grate the zest from the orange and set to one side.
Extract as much of that lovely juice as possible.
Peel and chop the avocados then add to a food processor or blender.
Chuck in the orange juice and zest (saving a bit for a garnish) and add the honey or maple syrup.
Whiz up until smooth and creamy then decant into suitably fancy dessert glasses and dress with the grated zest.
Refrigerate for 1-2 hours then whip them out after dinner to a rapturous applause
Tip - You might find that one orange isn’t quite zingy enough so feel free to use another, it’s an experiment! Also if you don’t like orange add coconut milk instead and garnish with desiccated coconut.
