Cherries contain ‘anthocyanins’, an antioxidant that gives them their rich purpley colour. Antioxidants are super important to help protect the skin from damage and can help to control inflammation.
This is recipe is technically another ‘banana ice cream’ but this version has a great big chocolatey hit!
Before you tuck into this one you’ll need to do a bit of prep to freeze the ingredients for 3 hours before hand.
First up peel and freeze half a banana.
Then pour half the almond milk into ice cube trays and freeze those as well.
If you’re using fresh cherries you’ll need to remove all the pits then freeze them ideally for 3 hours too, if using frozen you’re good to go.
Place the frozen cherries, banana, almond-milk ice cubes, and the rest of the almond milk in a food processor along with the cacao/coco powder and whizz up until completely smooth.
Stir in chocolate chips, and enjoy immediately!
